Biography
Melissa Iori is an AETL Software Engineer for the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society. Her contributions are centered on designing and implementing software solutions for the NSF Center for Computer Assisted Synthesis, a lab that focuses on the intersection between data and chemistry. This includes multiple ongoing research applications as well as the Open Reaction Database.
Before joining Notre Dame, Melissa worked as a Full Stack Software Engineer, developing functionality for data analysis, search, and other requirements for Marist College, IBM, Draper Labs, Exago Inc., Seismic Software and the Visual Analytics Lab at Tufts University. Melissa currently holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Marist College, and an M.S. in Computer Science from Tufts University. Her thesis work focused on information visualization and interaction analysis patterns. She is keenly interested in helping researchers address their software needs for interdisciplinary research, applying computer science techniques to data-intensive problems and pursuing the ideal user experience for data science interfaces.
