Biography
Annalisa Szymanski is a PhD student in the Computer Science department with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction. Her interest is in the design of functional and practical technologies that will inclusively improve daily lives through the use of data mixed with human behavior research. Currently, her research involves leveraging existing technologies to support healthy food access through visualization design and recommendation engines. Before joining academia, she gained five years of experience in industry at Vanguard where she served as an analyst in a multifunctional Client Experience lab. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in Business Intelligence and Analytics at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. In her free time, she enjoys attending Barre class and learning the Polish language.
