Kundu’s research lies at the intersection of graph and AI exploration and includes social network analysis, streaming and big data, graph representation learning, graph for GenAI and information retrieval.
Title of Presentation:
“You are What Your Feeds Make You: An Analysis of Aggression Dynamics and Behavior Forecasting in Temporal Social Network”
Description:
The widespread use of aggressive language on Twitter raises concerns about potential negative influences on user behavior. Despite previous research exploring aggression and negativity on the platform, the relationship between consuming aggressive content and users’ aggressive behavior remains under-explored.
This talk will unfold the answer to the following questions (i) Do aggressive feeds can make someone aggressive? (ii) Does exposure to event-aggressive feeds increase a user’s event-specific aggressive behavior? (iii) Do users engage more with aggressive posts? The results are based on our proposed dataset TAG-EN containing 14M posts from 63K users. Building upon findings from these questions, we develop Temporal Social Graph Attention Network (TSGAN), a social-aware sequence-to-sequence architecture designed to forecast aggressive behavior in dynamic social networks.
The core of TSGAN is an adaptive socio-temporal attention module that dynamically models social influence and temporal dynamics. It captures global social influence by employing a graph contrastive learning approach. TSGAN uniquely addresses user inactivity, models dynamic follower relationship impacts, and accounts for temporal behavioral decay while scaling to large networks.
