About:
The Trustworthy AI Lab for Education (TALE) at Notre Dame is pleased to invite submissions for our upcoming conference poster session on December 1st, 2023. Emphasizing the importance of student research, this event seeks to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue by serving as a platform for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, practitioners, and external partners to share their projects, observations and insights. Together, we endeavor to construct effective and trustworthy AI solutions that address the critical challenges surrounding achievement and opportunity gaps in education. In addition to the poster session, ND-TALES also features panels, research talks, and roundtable discussions on the future of AI in education from international scholars and industry leaders.
Target Audience:
- AI and Ed Leaders in the field of research and industry
- Higher ed & K-12 educators and administrators
- Undergraduate and graduate students
- Postdoctoral scholars
- Faculty and staff
Poster Tracks:
Participants are invited to submit proposals related to AI, Generative AI, LLMs, educational data mining, learning analytics, and the broader theme of trustworthy AI in education. These submissions can encompass a wide range of perspectives including, but not limited to, technology, capabilities, limitations, ethics, accessibility, privacy, or law and policy. Posters will be submitted under one of the following tracks:
- Traditional Research: Showcase your latest empirical research that offers insights or new methodologies related to AI in education.
- Literature Review: Present synthesis and critique of existing literature on specific AI in education topics, highlighting trends, gaps, or emerging areas.
- Showcasing Projects: Spotlight innovative projects, tools, or technologies that leverage AI to enhance educational processes or outcomes.
- Practices: How are AI-driven technologies being used in the classroom for teaching, learning, and assessment?
- Other: Any additional submissions that do not fit explicitly within the defined tracks but still contribute valuable insights to the field of AI in education.
Competition:
The award would be in the following categories:
- Certificate of Recognition
- Cash amount of $300/poster- One for graduate students and one for undergraduates

Please submit your proposal by November 10th via this Google Form. Proposals should include a brief description of your project, research, or literature review. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by November 14th. Note: If your poster is accepted, we will provide publishing requirements and print the poster at no charge to you. The primary presenter is required to attend the event lunch also at no costs.
