Presenter: Cheng Liu
The item response theory (IRT) attempts to describe the relationship between observable manifestations and the underlying latent traits using a specific set of mathematical models. Nowadays, the method has been widely used for both educational and psychological measurement. This workshop will go over the fundamental idea of how IRT works, as well as its application to educational assessment (e.g., a computerized adaptive testing (CAT) platform). The workshop will use R for the data demo. You are encouraged to try it yourself if you are interested in it. However, no previous R experience is assumed.
This workshop will be offered in-person in Hesburgh Library. There is a limit of 15 participants for this workshop. Register Now!
Registration must be completed by Tuesday, January 31st.
