Biography

Mary Wachira is a Research Fellow at the Lucy Family Institute, where she provides both programmatic and research support across the Institute’s education initiatives. Her current portfolio includes the iTREDS, ExLENT Data Crossings and #GOALS by Ascension Foundation. She previously served as Program Director for the Health Equity Data Lab. Mary combines seasoned project management skills with deep experience in community engagement, research, evaluation, and strategy development to examine organizational and community frameworks and identify opportunities for social change and impact. Previously, Mary spent three years with the St. Joseph County Department of Health as a Global Health Research Associate, Public Health Fellow, and Data Analyst, where she helped define the local burden of disease, contributed to the inaugural health equity report, and supported a Community Health Workers (CHW)-led health equity data analysis initiative.

Mary holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Nairobi, a Project Management Diploma, and a Master of Global Affairs from the University of Notre Dame. She is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Public Health at the University of London. Her international experience spans health and education practices across Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, and Liberia.
