Biography

Nayantara Biswas is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Maternal Health and Health Economics at the Health Equity Data Lab at the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society. Nayantara is an applied microeconomist whose research examines the role of public health and policy interventions on human capital formation among low- and middle-income populations. In her dissertation, she studied the impact of community health workers on maternal and child health and labor outcomes in India.

Her other work examines the effects of parental leave and work flexibility on the health of minority groups in the US. She uses data-driven causal inferential techniques in evidence-based policy research with a focus on equity. She is passionate about finding creative solutions to address the needs of underserved populations by using specialized quantitative and qualitative methods to influence policies. Nayantara holds a PhD in Economics from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.
