2023-2025 Lucy Graduate Scholar
Biography
Barnabas holds a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and an M.Sc. in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, UK. His doctoral research efforts are directed towards addressing challenges hindering the phaseout of harmful greenhouse gases known as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). HFCs are currently used in heaters, refrigerators, air-conditioners and ventilators. He applies molecular dynamics simulations, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics and machine learning to aid the recovery and replacement of these harmful fluids. He has experience in leadership, mentoring, and designing & teaching undergraduate courses. He aspires to pursue a career in academia to lead the application of molecular level data to solve grand technological challenges for the benefit of society.
