The University of Notre Dame’s Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society invites submissions for the inaugural RISE (Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Ethical) AI Conference, October 6-9, 2025, held at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN, to explore how AI can address societal challenges while promoting responsibility, inclusion, safety, and equity. We invite abstracts from academics and panel proposals from the industry.
The 2025 RISE AI Conference will feature:
- Inspiring keynote panels with thought leaders
- Engaging sessions highlighting innovative translational research responsive to RISE
- Interactive roundtables and workshops offering insights from industry leaders, not-for-profit organizations, and
- Fireside chats with grant program officers to explore opportunities for advancing impactful research
- Paper and poster presentations
- Networking opportunities for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers
We encourage submissions of papers and posters that explore interdisciplinary AI-driven solutions to complex societal challenges, integrating perspectives from natural, computer, and social sciences, business, education, humanities, ethics, public policy, and beyond.

- RISE AI for Empowering Human-Centered Technologies

- RISE AI for Cultural Empowerment through Digital Humanities
We especially encourage contributions that address the intersection of AI with historically underserved communities and amplify voices from diverse and underrepresented regions.
Submission guidelines:
2025 RISE AI Conference accepts original contributions. The submission system is now open, with a deadline of February 15, 2025 for abstract and panel submissions.
Authors will be notified of acceptance decisions by March 15, 2025, and will be invited to participate in a panel discussion or present a paper or a poster. Selected abstracts will be invited for a full paper submission for consideration of publication in conference proceedings or journal special issues.
