The RAISEuP Fellowship

The Applied Analytics & Emerging Technology Lab (AETL) within the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society supports local industry professionals through the Research and Industry Scholarly Exchange Fellowship Program (RAISEuP).

Within RAISEuP, participants colocate with members of the AETL Lab at the University of Notre Dame for a period of 6 -12 months to work on a vexing problem for an industry organization that aligns with the work and mission of the AETL lab. Through collaboration, the projects aim to propel the adoption of analytics and emerging technologies, fostering a thriving industry community.

The program is also part of the NSF-awarded program, ExLENT Data Crossings, designed to engage undergraduate students and adults from various non-technical backgrounds in a year-long, hands-on, data-science-focused curriculum.

Areas of study may include but are not limited to:

  • Applied data and analytics within the applicable industry of the applicant
  • Smart device or other emerging technology integration into manufacturing (process automation, robotics, IoT)
  • Data applied operation optimization
  • Applied AI/Machine Learning, AR, VR
  • Potential for replication or implementation broadly within the RAISEuP Fellow’s industry
