Presenter: Jessica Young
The introduction to machine learning workshop gives a general understanding of what machine learning is and what it can do for your research. Starting with the importance of preprocessing your data, we will then move on to the difference between supervised and unsupervised learning and how important the training set is for your model creation. We will explore various machine learning methods and applications in R.
The workshop assumes working knowledge of R and RStudio and is open to advanced undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff. Although the workshop uses social science data, people from other disciplines are welcome to attend.
This workshop will be offered on Zoom There is a limit of 15 participants for this workshop. Register Now!
Registration must be completed by Monday, January 30th.
