Cohort 5: 2024-2026 Applications are Now CLOSED
Eligibility:
Students eligible to apply to become iTREDS Scholars include:
- Sophomores at Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College with prerequisites to take data science and artificial intelligence (AI) courses, such as those working towards a Bachelor of Arts/Science in Computer Science (CS), Bachelor of Science in Applied Math, Computer Science & Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics (ACMS), or a Minor in Data Science.
- Sophomores at Saint Mary’s College who, before starting the program, will have completed both Calculus and Introduction to Computer Programming (CPSC 207) courses.
To join the two-year program, students must apply in their sophomore year to start the program as a junior.

Selection Criteria
The iTREDS committee utilizes a holistic review process to ensure that students are seen as a whole and not eliminated nor selected on the grounds of any single measure. Applications are reviewed based on:
- GPA
- Statement of Interest
- Prior Experience
- Interest and Enthusiasm for Applied Work
